What began as a single fado house in the heart of Alfama is now something bigger. Taverna D’EL Rey and Coração del Rey are two houses of the same family, a group united by one purpose: to celebrate Portuguese culture, night after night.

Once a humble tavern that sold coal and wine, Taverna D’EL Rey grew into a place full of history, and from that same soul, Coração del Rey was born.

In both houses, every detail has been carefully designed to honor Portuguese tradition, from the atmosphere that evokes old Lisbon to menus crafted with authentic flavors and traditional recipes, thought out dish by dish to give you a truly memorable evening.

And, of course, fado. Genuine, intimate, and heartfelt, performed every night the way it was meant to be. Whichever house you choose, you’ll find the same care, the same warmth, and the same true spirit of Lisbon.
